Retinal Photography (Fundus photos)

What is it?

A digital photo of the back of your eye—including the retina, optic nerve, and macula—using a safe, noninvasive camera.

What’s involved?

  • You’ll sit comfortably, place your chin on a rest, and look at a light.

  • The camera snaps the photo in seconds—no pain, no touch.

Why it matters:

  • Detects early signs of eye diseases like diabetes-related changes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and more.

  • Enables doctors to compare images over time, catching subtle changes before you notice any vision loss.

Why it's worth having:
Regular retinal photos are your visual records—they let us “see” what’s happening inside before symptoms appear, helping prevent irreversible damage.
